Tasting and enjoying wine involves a basic understanding of wine sensory. An individual’s ability to identify aromas, tastes, and sensations in wine results in a more fulfilling tasting experience for the taster. Nicholas focuses on sensory training using sensory standards for aromas and tastes. Participants in the basic sensory course will be able to identify basic aromas found in white and red wines. They further understand the influence of alcohol, sweetness, acidity, and tannin in tasting. Tasters of all experience levels benefit from initial training and continued practice. The skill of tasting requires not only regular wine tasting, but practice in sensory. The tools learned in this course allow the taster to readily approach tastings centered on growing regions or varietals.
